Athlone Sub Aqua Club features in two Subsea Articles

The Spring 2010 edition of Subsea, Irelands Diving Magazine, featured two articles on Athlone Sub Aqua Club.

One article covered the finding by two Athlone Sub Aqua Club members of two grenades in the River Shannon during a routine training exercise on a Wednesday night late last summer. The grenades were Mills Grenades, the type used by the British Army and are thought to date back to the War of Independence. Once they were recognised the Gardai were called. Shortly afterwards the Bomb Disposal Unit arrived and took the grenades away to be destroyed.

The club’s introduction of its website was also given extensive coverage in the magazine. This article highlighted the impressive range of features that was contained on the website and commented on its benefit for the public at large, people thinking about joining the club and its present membership.  The website was praised for its user friendliness, ease of navigation and its presentation of information in clear and concise terms.
