Athlone Sub Aqua Club has appointed Stewart McMickan as it's Water Safety Co-ordinator for this year’s TriAthlone Event.

This year’s Triathlone event presents the club with its greatest ever challenge in terms of providing water safety cover to the local community. The event, which is spread out over 4 days from 1^st to 4^th July 2010, also incorporates the ETU European TriAthlon Championship and is therefore expected to attract a substantial increase in competitors this year.

In order to respond to this challenge Stewart has established a 5-person team to plan and direct safety cover at this year’s event. This team includes the following club members:

• Stewart McMickan (Water Safety Co-ordinator)
• Ger Craven (Assistant Co-ordinator)
• Jim Campbell (Assistant Co-ordinator)
• Bernard Larkin (Assistant Co-ordinator)
• Brian Duffy (Assistant Co-ordinator)

This is the 5^th year in succession that Athlone Sub Aqua Club has taken responsibility for the safety of thousands of competitors that swim in the TriAthlone event. Stewart and his team are wished all the best by the club with the co-ordination of this year’s water safety cover.
