The winner of Athlone Sub Aqua Club's Member of the Year award for 2009 is the club's Snorkelling Officer, Bernard Larkin.

This announcement was made by the club's Chairman at Athlone Sub Aqua Club's AGM which was held on 1st November 2009. The recipient of this award is decided each year following an on-line poll of club members.

Bernard is a very worthy winner of this award. Members present at the AGM were delighted that Bernard received the recognition he deserved for the tremendous work that he has carried out with the club's junior and snorkelling members throughout the year.

Bernard will be remaining as the club's Snorkelling Officer for the coming year to continue his good work.
